Hope Leads Mental Health Care (Forbes and Adia Social Work Professional Corporation) is recruiting a Therapist to join our team to provide psychotherapy to communities across Ontario, Canada. As an independent contractor, you will be joining a team of values-aligned leaders and be able to provide psychotherapy to diverse communities from across the gender spectrum.

I. THERAPIST POSITION
Role Description & Responsibilities:
1. Support clients from racialized and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
2. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and provide individual psychotherapy to adult individuals virtually in Ontario, Canada.
3. Evaluate treatment plan progress, manage charts, and documentation.
4. Provide as needed system navigation support and advocacy (e.g. completing forms and writing support letters).
5. Provide care on either a part-time or full-time basis (minimum 6 clinical hours per week).
6. Participate in community projects, consultation, and program facilitation as needed.
7. Attend team meetings.
8. Reporting: This position reports to the Co-Founders of Hope Leads Mental Health Care (Joelleann Forbes and Michael Adia)
Qualifications:
1. Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)/College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO)/another regulatory body that can provide the controlled act of psychotherapy (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/07p10/v4).
2. Must be in good standing with a recognized regulatory college.
3. Master’s degree in counselling, psychotherapy or social work and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
4. Individual professional liability insurance.
5. Minimum 3 years of counselling/psychotherapy experience post-licensure; preferably in a community health and/or hospital setting.
Strong working knowledge of trauma, violence, and addictions within an intersectional context.
1. Proficiency in current assessments, psychotherapy, and psychosocial counselling techniques for individuals and groups.
2. Strong working knowledge of racialized and gender-diverse health and mental health concerns.
3. Proficiency in the use of electronic medical records and record keeping.
4. Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. M.7 (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90m07)
5. Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality expectations and Ontario’s privacy legislation, Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
6. In addition to English, proficiency to communicate in another language would be an asset.
7. Experience providing couples therapy would be an asset.

II. 2SLGBTQ+ PROJECT CONSULTANT POSITION
Role Description:
1. Support with the development of training content (i.e. presentation slides and a manual).
2. Co-lead the facilitation of a training series (in-person) focused on 2SLGBTQ+ mental health and health in primary/ community healthcare.
3. Support with managing project timelines and objectives.
4. Attend team meetings.
5. Reporting: This position reports to the Co-Founders of Hope Leads Mental Health Care (Joelleann Forbes and Michael Adia)
Qualifications:
1. Extensive experience running groups, workshop facilitation, and/or teaching.
2. Strong working knowledge of racialized cisgender, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse health and mental health concerns.
3. Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
4. Strong working knowledge of trauma, violence, and addictions within an intersectional context.
Assets:
1. Lived experience navigating the primary healthcare system as a Trans/Non-binary person.
2. Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)/College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO)/another regulatory body.
3. Active individual professional liability insurance.
